“Beulah Wind,” $650.00
26″ wide x 15″ tall x 18″ deep
“Beulah Wind” is an illuminated sculpture for the wall, 26″ wide x 15″ high x 18″ deep. It is made from an unusual y-shaped oak wood branch found near Beulah, Colorado, which has been carefully sanded and oiled. All wood in my sculptures are from fallen deadwood; I never take from a living tree! Paper, glue, and reed are used to create the translucent sculpture. It is beautiful unlit, but when the lights are on the papier mache takes on a warm glow.
“Beulah Wind” was named in honor of the mountain town of Beulah, Colorado. One of the gems of Southern Colorado, Beulah has suffered from two forest fires within the past decade, fueled by scrub oak and high, swirling wind.
